No Legal Advice

The App does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or legal interpretations. Notaries are responsible for understanding and following the laws, rules, regulations, and requirements applicable to their commission and jurisdiction.

State Requirements

State rules and requirements can differ and may change over time. Configured state rules, accepted identification types, fee limits, thumbprint settings, and other information displayed by the App are administrative tools and should not be treated as legal advice.

Recordkeeping Responsibility

The notary is responsible for entering accurate information, reviewing records before locking them, and maintaining records according to the applicable retention requirements.

Electronic Records & Exports

The App can store journal records and generate PDF exports for sharing, printing, or storage. The user is responsible for protecting exported records and choosing appropriate methods for sharing and backup.

Personal & Sensitive Information

Journal records may contain personally identifiable information, signatures, identification details, and thumbprints. Users are responsible for protecting the device, account credentials, journal records, and exported documents from unauthorized access.

Paper-to-Digital Transition

Users transitioning from a paper journal are responsible for reviewing their commissioning authority's requirements before making the App their active journal and for retaining prior paper records as required.

Use at Your Own Responsibility

The App is provided as a recordkeeping tool. Users remain responsible for their notarial acts, journal entries, compliance decisions, record retention, and use of the information contained in the App.
