Getting Started
Complete your Profile & Setup first. Your legal name, commission/license number, commission state, and accepted Disclaimer and Terms are required before creating a live journal entry.
How do I create a new journal entry?
Open New Act, enter the signer and identification details, document information, fees, signing location, signature, and any required thumbprint. Submit the record when all required information is ready to lock.
What is Practice Entry?
Practice Entry lets you rehearse the workflow before creating a live record. Practice records are labeled Practice Mode and are the only journal records that can be deleted.
Can I save an unfinished entry?
Yes. Use Save As Draft when information is incomplete or the notarization is not ready to lock. Drafts remain separate from the Secure Journal.
How does identification work?
You can enter identification details manually or use the supported scanner. Available ID types depend on the configured state rules.
How is the signing location recorded?
Use Auto-Detect, View on Map, or enter the signing location manually. A signing location is required before a final record can be locked.
How do I export a journal record?
Open a locked journal entry and tap the Send icon. The formatted PDF can then be emailed, printed, saved, texted, or shared through the device share options.
Are journal entry numbers included in exports?
No. Entry numbers are visible inside the app on the journal record detail page and are intentionally removed from printed and emailed journal exports.
How do I protect my journal?
Use Lock Data whenever you step away or hand the device to someone else. Face ID or Touch ID can also be used after login setup.
Can I use a thumbprint reader?
Profile includes an option for an approved Bluetooth thumbprint reader. Paper thumbprint capture remains available when supported.
What happens if required information is missing?
Before locking a record, One Ledger validates required signer information, address, location, commission state, identification details, thumbprint rules, and statutory fee limits. Missing or invalid sections are highlighted.
How do I access my account after reinstalling?
Email and password accounts use Firebase Authentication. Sign in with the same account after reinstalling when the configured Firebase project and sign-in provider are available.
How do I set up my profile?
Profile & Setup is where you maintain notary information, commission rules, default fees, branding, user photo, thumbprint reader settings, and shareable business information.
How do I move from a paper journal?
Use the Paper to Digital Onboarding checklist to establish your transition checkpoint, keep prior paper records intact, and begin new digital records from the selected transition point.
